With Book Week just 1 week away we are so pleased to have created resources for more than 50 of this year's shortlisted and notable books.
This year we have made it easier than ever for teachers, librarians, pre-school educators and parents to share the shortlisted and notable books with their children. With printable activities and 3 online games for every book there is something for everyone. You do not even need to be logged in to play our custom made Match Up (Memory), Maze and Puzzle games.
With the option to search for books by their title, author or topic there is something for everyone in this year's line up. We have some fabulous activities for this year's only wordless book - The Boy and The Elephant. A story of a young boy and his relationship with nature in the urban jungle in which he lives. It is easy for young children to engage with the images and create their own words to tell this story or no words at all as the pictures say all that needs to be said. Click here to see these now.
We have activities for this year's old double award nominee - Walking in Gagudju Country: Exploring The Monsoon Forest Book by Ben Tyler, Diane Lucas and Emma Long. This book is shortlisted for both new illustrator of the year and an Eve Pownall Award for a non-fiction story told in an interesting fashion. This book cleverly incorporates indigenous language for the Gagudju Country and develops a deeper understanding of the intricacies of this fragile environment. Click here to see these activities.
You will find activities for these and all of the CBCA book we have created resources for on our dedicated Book Week 2022 page which can be found by clicking here. We are also super excited to be part of the CBCA journal for 2023 and to have already put together a CBCA journal exclusive activity and be working on 15 new CBCA Book Week 2023 themed activities. Stay tuned to hear all about that in the next Learn From Play blog.
