This is a beautiful colourful rhyming story about a dodo, Delilah, who dreams of being able to fly. She is ridiculed by the other dodos but her father believes in her and encourages her to follow her dreams. She works hard to build herself a pair of wings and shows Desmond and the others who laughed at her that to be a dodo who flies you must first be a dodo who tries.

This is an empowering book for young children as it teaches them to follow their dreams. That they should have a go as even if they do not succeed, they will be one step closer to their end goal than they were before they started.
