Overview
This is a classic Australian story that won the 2003 Early Childhood Book of the Year CBCA award. A story that blends fiction and non-fiction as it show that every month of the year there are jobs to do on a small Australian farm.
Fruit ripens, lambs are born, hay is harvested. 'A Year on our Farm' shows the passing of the seasons through the eyes of the children for whom the farm and all its animals is home. Perfect for children from Pre-school to Year 2 we have created 6 activities to help bring this book to life and into the classroom. There is a spot the difference with a difference to practice counting, a seasons and months activity to follow the annual progress of the farm, a graphological activity to match animals to the shape of their name, a counting activity to count the hens eggs, a fine motor skills activity to match the hens to their eggs and an activity to find the odd one out in each set of farm related items.
