Overview
Good Question is a clever story by Sue Whiting and Annie White which uses intertextuality to tell the fox's story as it is woven through a number of well known fairy tales. A CBCA notable Picture Book for 2021 this story uses interesting fonts and beautiful illustrations to lead the reading through scenes from Jack and The Beanstalk, The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears to end up in Henny Penny with the sky falling in and the fox finally looking like he might get some dinner.
Perfect for children in Years 1 or 2 who are studying fairy tales and fractured rhymes. We have made 6 activities to allow this book to be used easily in the classroom. Each activity relates to one of the fairy tales referred to in the story. The first is a craft activity related to Jack and the Beanstalk, the second is based on the story of the Three Little Pigs, there is an activity on Goldilocks and the Three Bears and one on Cinderella, there is an activity based on the final section of the book related to Henny Penny. The final activity uses the book inside cover to design a game in which the players are each a fox and must get from the start to the finish with book obstacles in their way.
